The HEAPE heat pump diverter has been designed to control the flow of the water circulating from a heat pump to a geyser. When a heat pump is first turned on, there is a warm up period. If water is allowed to circulate back to the geyser during this time, the geyser will cool down at the top which is undesirable.
During the warm up period, the diverter short circuits water back to the inlet of the heat pump, ensuring that the water at the top of the geyser remains hot. Once the heat pump is warmed up, the diverter opens the circuit to the geyser and water heating commences.
Application

Installation
Install as shown in the diagram
Do not apply heat near valve during installation
Valve must be protected by a inline strainer
Flush pipe work prior to fitting
Installation must comply with local authority requirements
After installation, set the diversion temperature.
Wind the adjustment screw fully out (anticlockwise)
Start the heat pump and allow it to warm up.
The short circuit line back to the heat pump should heat up.
When it is hot, slowly wind the diverter adjusting screw becomes hot.
